Mustang flies off the shelf
A
name that
normally
features in
the Czech section of
the news but at the
show they released
their P-51 Mustang
with a limited edition
Chattanooga Choo
Choo version. We have
been informed that this
kit has been the best
selling kit they have
ever premiered at the
show with over 300
sales on the irst day
and they fully expect to
be sold out well before
the end of the second
day. Preorders from
their web store and
retailers had been so
great that they have
produced a second
run of this kit with
one small diference.
Last month Eduard
commissioned their
own decal printing
machine and this
second run of the P-51
will be the irst to have
decals printed on this
new press. Eduard has
high hopes that this new
machine will enable
them to make their
own decals among the
highest quality possible
with today’s technology.
Widow Maker Out
K
inetic had their new
Lockheed F-104G
Starighter on sale at
the show. In the lesh this kit
is even more impressive than
the pictures we had seen from
the manufacturer. We will
have a full irst look on this
model in the next issue.
It’s Hot
A
ce models have
released a 1/72 scale
kit of the Alvis
FV-651 Salamander Mk.6
crash tender. These had a
long life in RAF service and
when retired found a ready
market at smaller airields
and with vehicle restorers.
Time for a yak
A
rma from
Poland has
announced that
the follow up to their
well received Hawker
Hurricane series, will
be a 1/72 scale Yak-1.
Initially, this will be
made in two versions
a comprehensive
Master boxing and a more
base version if you do
not want a super detailed
model on the shelf.
Is it a plane or helicopter?
T
he Avro 671 was a successful
design based on the Clerva
Autogyro with over 78
produced. And a number served
with the RAF on radar calibration
duties and three still survive
in museums around the UK.
This is a surprising choice from
Miniart and if it is as good as their
Flettner’s I am sure will be very
popular and no doubt more boxings
will come covering Civera C.30.
I am also hoping they cover some
of the very attractive pre war civil
schemes as well as the French
and Danish military versions.
Lizzie for Christmas
D
ora Wings have supplied
the runner map for the
new 1/48 scale
Westland Lysander.
The irst version will
be a Mk.III and I am
sure it will not be
long before we get a
further boxing with
the long fuselage
ladder and under
fuselage fuel tank.
As used for landing
agents and cargo into France
before the liberation.
