In 1964,apuppycalled Honey joined the children’s
TV showBluePeter.The plan wasfor her to be
trained asaguide dog and shewaslooked after by
presenters ChristopherTraceand Valerie Singleton.
Honey got up to all sorts of mischief on TV andwas
seen chewingclothesandchasingJaso nthe cat, who
wasanotherBluePeterpet. However, she managed
to pass her training and in September 1966 she
becameaqualified guide dog and left the show.
Meet the Buddy Dogs
The Guide Dogs charity,despite its name, doesn’t
just work with guide dogs. Infact, it runs several
other services to help blind and visually impaired
