SPRING FORWARD
UPSTAIRS GALLERY, OFFICE, LAUNDRY, SIDE STAIR HALL | STEPHANIE JARVIS
When it came to connecting the long corridor’s gallery and offi ce, vestibule and laun-
dry room, decorator Stephanie Jarvis had a spring in her step—literally. “The show-
house theme of ‘Spring’ sparked the inspiration. I love that transition between seasons,
where the starkness of winter is punctuated by strong bursts of spring color,” shares
Jarvis. Her idea came to life fi rst in the stairwell and study, where she incorporated
mineral greens, grays and charcoal colors with a punch of citron yellow, including the
magnifi cent tree drawings by Richard Bowers, photographs of decayed architecture by
Hector Sanchez and antiques from Atlanta antiques gallery Parc Monceau. The long
hall and vestibule embodied springtime with the likes of a butterfl y print and coral,
green and white colorways. But the tour de force is the vestibule’s attention-grabbing
earthy green wallpaper by Faye Bell of Atlanta Artist Collective. “I adore a memorable
wallpaper, especially in small spaces,” she shares. “The ink drawings by Russian artist
Slava Roubanov were the icing on the cake.” —Jeanne Lyons Davis
