Decorator Jennifer Ferguson of Jacquelynne P. Lanham Designs put the mud-
room on the pedestal it deserves with a cool, calm and collected approach to
the hardworking space. Custom designed rugs by Eve and Staron and roman
shades in dreamy Mark Alexander linen add subtle yet substantial texture to
the soothing space. The adjacent ground fl oor powder room complements the
nature-inspired entry with textured Phillip Jeffries wallcovering and a smatter-
ing of antique treasures. “I wanted the powder room and mudroom to feel sim-
patico so I scoured antiques shops (Nicholson Gallery, A. Tyner Antiques, Dixon
Rye, Robuck, to name a few) for treasures and artwork,” shares Ferguson. Both
spaces’ elegant (and highly functional) designs are rooted by the scenic natural
