Cambridge is the cycling capital of
the country, with more bikes per
head of population than any other
city in the UK. Transport policies
that fa vour pedal power over ca rs
in the ci ty are part of the reason,
but the distinct lack of hills in the
surrounding countrysid e also makes
cyclin g around here a delight.
The ci ty has an extensive route
network forall abilities to e njoy
with over 80 miles of cycle lanes an d
routes – anexcellent way to admire
the beautiful architecture.There’s
even a cycle hire company in the ci ty.
The Cherry Hintoncampsite is set
in old quarry works, ju st a 40-minute
bus ride from the ci ty. The site offers
good cyclingpaths in to and around
Cambridge – it’s about 15minutes by
bike. Just opposite the site is a nature
reserve and cha lk pits. The site has
hook-up, atoilet blo ck, motorhome
service point anddog walk.
