Wing Hall is a fami ly-owned esta te in
England’s smallest countyof Rutland.
Locatedbetween the market towns
of Oakham and Uppingham, Wing
Hall offers traditional-style camping
with a seasonal farm andvilla ge shop,
independent café-barand cycle hire.
Also in the grounds of Wing Hall are
two fishing lakes that guests can use.
The campsite occupies the fields
surrounding the house, ju st a mile
from Rutland Water – acyclist’s
paradise. There is a 25-mile or 17-
mile circular trail to follow or you cansimply pedal as little or as muc h as
you like aroundthe reservoir and open
countryside. There are many rest-
stops alon g the route to hav e a break
in a country pub, café or picnic spot.
You cantake your own bikes or make
use of the cycle hire and cycle shop
that is loca ted by the reservoir.
The campsite has gras s pitches
with electric if required. There are
toilets and showe rs, wa shing-upsinks
and acommunal fr idge/freeze r. The
Buttonhole Caféis open atweekends
