RACER PROFILE
JON GAMBLE
Car: Sapphire Cosworth 4x4
Spec: top-spec YB, Oppliger six-speed,
Quaife diffs, BBS split-rims
Jon has owned his immaculate Cosworth
for 14 years and over that time there have
been some major changes. “The engine was
built by me and is currently reading 746 bhp
on the dyno. It runs an Oppliger six-speed
sequential gearbox and has Quaife front and
rear diffs. I’ve been drag racing the car for
around eight years now. I used to drive the
car to and from the track until the time it
reached around 521 bhp a few years back
and the gearbox blew up on the dyno — I
decided it was time to buy a trailer”. With the
2019 rule changes Sierras have been
included for the fi rst time in the OSFDC and
Jon jumped at the chance to join in “I’ve
followed the OSFDC for a while and am glad
to be able to be a part of it.” With a PB of 10.7
seconds we know there is much more to
come from this monster of a motor – watch
this space!
