FAR WEST TEXAS

Exploring West Texas and, more specifically, the Chisos

Mountains that rise more than 2,000 metres above the

desert floor still means riding in 33 C daytime heat;

but keep the woolies handy, as it gets quite chilly at night.

The ride went along excellent paved surfaces that twist

and turn, and rise and fall rapidly, which required the

rider’s full attention in this land of unbending beauty.
