100% Biker – August 2019

the fortunes of both brands around.
That collection includes forty customs either
bought or commissioned by the museum from
the best builders out there and the machines that
were brought to Austin were among some of the
most impressive, including Don Cronin and Mick
O’Shea’s Rondine Moto Guzzi, the 2013 AMD World
Champion; George and Sofi Tsingos’ Medusa; The Six
from Revival Cycles; Walt Seigl’s Bedeveled Ducati
and Bryan Fuller’s 2029 centre-hub steering all-
electric bare metal stunning creation.
Everything about this Handbuilt Show harked
back to the spirit of working with one’s hands and,
for this, I commend the Revival Cycles crew for their
vision. From the food trucks hand-making their fare
outside to the hand-painted signs displaying the
price on each of the event shirts, no detail seemed
to have been missed. It is this attitude that will
encourage better and better quality and better and
better customs, and so, come next spring, I will be
headed back to Austin to see the cutting edge of just
what is possible with motorcycles.

Even with the slightly bizarre seat, Jay Shia’s Devil’s Advocate 1957 Royal Enfield
Indian is pretty cool. How many Royal Enfield Indian customs have you seen?

El Scorchio reflects the quality, glitz and surprising subtlety
that Mark Shell of Bonneville Customs brings to all his builds.

Josh Allison of Cry Baby Cycles’ 1945 Harley Knucklehead King Nothing. When not building his own
stuff, Allison is lead fabricator at Orange County Choppers. Yes, that Orange County Choppers.

Medaza Cycles’
Mick O’Shea

Cronin. We’re
not sure if the
banner refers to
them...

Root 66, Tim Scates’ 1952 Panhead chopper.

Centre hub steering electric bike, Bryan Fuller of Fuller Moto’s 2029 was
built for the Haas Museum to show what a 2029 version of the 1929 Majestic
might look like; it uses a Zero electric power train and 3D printed parts.

Bob, a 1947 Indian Chief bobber built by Mark Hurley
of the Spring Motorcycle Company, and just gorgeous.
