NEXT MONTH:
SUMMER JACKETS
Often when researching the Biker Gear
features, we set ourselves the challenge
of finding the cheapest version of the
product on review that is both good
quality and won’t fall apart while still in
the box. We don’t think you will find a
brand new classic motorcycle headlight
for any less than the price of this LED-
fitted headlamp from KaTur which we
spotted on http://www.amazon.co.uk.
A little different from the usual fare of
chrome or anodised finishes is this headlight
from Motorcycle Supply Co in a copper
housing with an Art Decoesque peak detail.
It’s fitted with a high/low beam and a clear
lens. If a copper finish doesn’t suit you, a
similar headlight is also available in a black
housing from http://www.deadbeatcustoms.com.
Crime Scene Choppers first made the grill
headlight astoundingly popular over ten
years ago with its ‘Rapide’ and it’s no surprise
that variations of the design continue to be
produced by many companies today. One of
the most competitively priced is this 4½-inch
headlight from Alchemy Parts with its cast
aluminium housing and grill. Please note that
this headlight is not E-marked. Available from
http://www.demontweeks.com.
KATUR^ £^18.^59
From W&W Cycles comes the Mercury
headlight which, with its distinctive
ornamental top cap and conical shape,
is reminiscent of 1930s streamline design
and in particular of the Mercury trains
of the era from which it takes its name.
Available in black or chromed finish and a
choice of 4½-inch or 5¾-inch lamps, the
Mercury can be found at your local W&W
Cycles dealer or through http://www.wwag.com.
BIKE-IT^ TRIANGULAR^ £^39.^99
The triangle may not be the obvious shape for a
headlight but it has always proved popular with
custom bike builders simply because it is different.
This is a modern take on the classic old school
shape and has an adjustable bottom mount to
allow for the perfect set up as well as a centre dip
lens. Available from http://www.bikeittrade.com.
