as well as the trunk of the trike
itself. The latter has a capacity of
113.3 litres—it is bulky but also the
most accessible of just about all
currently available trikes, with
a large boot lid that opens over
almost the entire width of the
luggage compartment. Ideal for
daily shopping as well as holidays
and rallies. Both the top case
and the luggage compartment
can be opened with the push of
a button and can also be locked
electronically too.
The Indian Roadmaster can
easily handle the little extra
weight of the Tomahawk kit and
propels you to high speeds with its
delicious abundance of torque. The
block, the famous Indian 111 1800cc
air-cooled V-twin, is completely
standard and the original silencers
have been used. The strict TüV
inspection required for the
customer’s home country turned
out to be no problem at all and the
trike even received a compliment
for its good performance!
From the long list of upgrades
and extras, the customer opted for
the 17-inch Boulevard Wheels, the
aforementioned 5.5-degree Rake
Kit, an electric reverse gear and
he also wanted a parking brake.
In order to be able to provide even

more luggage space, a detachable
towbar has been fitted so that it is
also possible to attach a trailer. To
give the jet black trike some extra
accents, chrome mudguard frames
and a chrome bumper were fitted.
With the reverse gear on it, you
don’t have to worry if you have to
manoeuvre backwards.
Now, this could have been
something of a behemoth of a
machine but it certainly isn’t,
thanks to the well-designed
Tomahawk kit. It has been built
to complement the original bike
and is only just over nine-foot long
and around under four-and-a-feet
wide, giving it modest proportions
for a trike. In all, it’s a vehicle
that’s handy, a pleasure to ride and
that will also attract attention—
because, as I found, everyone
wants to have a good look at it as
soon as you stop anywhere. Mike
says; “Our customer is totally in
love with it and was very excited
to have the first Indian trike in
Europe. It was even featured
on the Facebook page of Indian
Motorcycle Germany!”

contributes greatly to good and
stable driving behavior is the
rake kit, which lowers the front
fork by 5.5 degrees. That way you
prevent the trike from steering
nervously, and, on the contrary,
makes it nice and stable. “It is a
high-performance trike with an
old school look. The Tomahawk
kit fits seamlessly with the
Indian vintage look literally and
figuratively!”
After a ride out it’s immediately
clear, the tricycle has made great
strides in recent years and the
Tomahawk is effortlessly able
to tackle the curves in the hilly
Limburg landscape. Potholes and
bumps are taken comfortably
while the trike follows the line
neatly, remains stable and absorbs
the shocks perfectly. After all,
no matter how nice or beautiful
something looks, we want to be
able to ride it well!
This trike is certainly an
eye-catcher that attracts a lot of
interest. “The list of options in
terms of design and accessories
is almost endless,” Mike says.
“Options such as special
upholstery, spray work and such,
but the standard version of the
Tomahawk is already complete.”
And complete is really
complete. Because in this version
you have everything you need to
ride well; good brakes, suspension
system and an enormous amount
of luggage space, consisting of
the detachable Roadmaster top
case with a capacity of 64.3 litres
