iven that he’s one of us
who’re always keeping
an eye out for suitable
bargains, Tom had
originally spotted the
chassis for sale on social media
(I’ll not mention which, to avoid
giving Mr Zuckerberg any undue
publicity...oh, hang on...) and
had instantly loved the shape of
the bike, despite it being just a
frame, forks, wheels and engine
and having a few questionable
modifications. However, the
frame had originally been built by
a reputable builder in the States
and then been subsequently re-
raked by Briz at Custom Cycle
Developments, so Tom was

confident of the quality; he got on
the phone as soon as he could to
ask some pertinent questions.
After being assured that the
chromed wheels and forks
weren’t either rusting or pitted, a
four hour drive was undertaken
to see the rolling chassis in the
flesh. A rusty chassis... Still, Tom
loved the shape, and the price was
right, so cash changed hands and
Tom took the bike back to Slinky
Bint HQ, super-excited at the
prospect of starting work on his
first Big Twin project.
Once it was back in the north
Leicestershire workshop, Tom
set to removing all of the strange
brackets and weird things that
