(Nandana) #1

....and I then added some Streaking .... ....and blended this in

weathering, only basic operational use wear. So,
using Ammo by MIG enamel washes, I stared
with a Neutral Wash to accent all recessed
details on the White underside parts. Then a
few speciic areas around the engine received a
Deep Grey wash for some higher contrast and
the engine vents, and a Black wash for a better
depth efect. Over the Blue areas on the top
and fuselage sides, my option was a Dark Sea
Blue wash.
Next, I turned my attention to the
‘water line mark’, something quite
common on amphibian
aircraft. To create a
discolouration in

this area, I prepared a paper mask, but ripping
the paper instead of cutting, this way I had
an irregular border. With the paper mask in
place I airbrushed a very thin layer of White,
just to give a lighter shade. Next using Ammo
by MIG Streaking Grime I painted a thin line
across the lightened edge and spread the
product vertically with a lat, clean brush. The
underside of the fuselage then received
several applications of Streaking Grime
and US Modern Vehicle Wash to give a
dirty appearance, and Engine Grime
was used around the engine nacelles
to add a more operational wear look.
After a Matt coat I came back to the
‘water line mark’ and used a Prismacolor
Green pencil to reinforce the irst line I created.
The pencil was then softened and blended

A pencil was then used to reinforced the line.....

...and the efect was softened with a stif brush
