Aside from the sponsor
markings, the Transit
interior was build out of the box.

No off-road vehicle would
be in the jungle without a
roof rack. I fashioned it from
styrene tube inserted with florist
wire to help keep its shape. I
finished it with the same black as
I used on the chassis.

All that was left was to put
the Transit together. The
roof rack carries a tool box, spare
tires and two side-mounted air
tanks. Four off-road lights on the
rack face the front of the van
while two lights face rearward. I
sourced the front bumper from
the Firestone Ford and found a
scale metal chain to drape across
the front for those extreme
extractions. The jacked
suspension and 37-inch tires give
the Transit a nose-bleed ride
height that should get it over or
through most obstacles.
