our car had a V6, I didn’t think it was
worth the effort to do that conversion
for a curbside build, 19.
Final assembly was no different from
any other stock Camaro except for one
minor issue: The side-view mirror
housings were not the same sheen. I’m

not sure when I first noticed it on the
real car, but the driver’s side was gloss
black and the passenger’s side was
semi-flat black and no amount of
polishing would bring up the shine. I
cut Warbird Decals chrome stripes
(No. SP007) to fit the mirrors. I made

Camaro badge decals for the sides and
nose, along with the red bow tie in
front and the “Heartbeat of America”
stickers in the rear window, 20.
I finished the interior with three
different grays: Krylon gray primer for
the carpet; Tamiya medium gray for
the upholstery; and Tamiya light sea
gray (XF-25) for plastic parts. Tamiya
NATO black (XF-65) went on anything
that was supposed to be black, with
Tamiya semi-gloss black (X-18) used to
pick out the details.
