G RMINFORCE TROLLING MOTOR

Voted Best of Show among New Products
at the 2019 International Convention of
Allied Sportfishing Trades, or ICAST
It’s currently a freshwater-only product, but
the newly released Garmin Force Trolling Motor
is an impressive piece of innovation. It features a
quiet, powerful, brushless motor that greatly
minimizes the vibration which causes some elec-
trics to interfere with sonar returns. The motor
has a built-in transducer to render Garmin CHIRP
tradition and Ultra HD ClearVu and SideVu scan-
ning sonar. The motor also has an integrated
heading sensor, enabling it to it hold a precise
position without drifting off the GPS mark. Wire-
less connectivity to the Garmin chartplotter and
foot pedal make for clean installation. The wire-
less remote offers all the usual features you’d
expect, plus something we’ve not seen before:
point-and-go gesture steering. Available in 50-
and 57-inch shaft models for $3,099.99 and
$3,199.99, respectively.

SKEETER SX 2550

The new Skeeter SX 2550 is a great example
of how a few small changes to a boat design
can make a very big difference in performance.
Adding a foot of length and inches of beam to a
24-foot hull may not alone make a significant
difference, but re-tooling the running surface
with a bit more deadrise while adding a gener-
ous amount of flare to the bow in conjunction
with an additional 5 inches of freeboard trans-
formed an already solid bay boat into a capable
big water performer. Multiple dry storage com-
partments with rod lockers join a 148-quart
insulated fishbox, 48-quart Engel cooler seat,
43-gallon and 40-gallon livewells, and a 16-
inch Simrad MFD to give you the tools necessary
for serious coastal fishing.
