the Drew that she knew back in San Diego
— and with it, his sudden affection for
her — Kim impulsively asks Julian to
marry her.
“Kim loves Julian and, of course, she
wants to spend her life with him, but it does
seem to come out of the blue,” acknowl-
edges her portrayer, Tamara Braun. “This
whole thing with Franco/Drew has rattled
her more than she wants to admit and I
think she feels like if she and Charlie are
married, then she will be shielded some-
how from the confusion going on with this
bizarre situation.”
For her part, Elizabeth is in the throes of
what portrayer Rebecca Herbst describes as
“frustration and fear” as she tries to figure
out if her marriage can be saved. Franco-
as-Drew’s interest in Kim “is certainly in
the back of Elizabeth’s mind,” according
to Co-Head Writer Chris Van Etten. “I
wouldn’t say it’s her first worry — how-
ever, that may change in the days ahead.”Gabi’s MIA status worries Will and Sonny.
“It isn’t like her to not be responsive when it
comes to Ari,” says Freddie Smith (Sonny).
“Will and Sonny realize something is wrong,
that she’s got to be in trouble.”
The duo heads to the police station to
express their concerns; particularly that the last
person to see Gabi was Nicole, who’s actually
Kristen. While Will and Sonny are there, they
overhear Tony say that Gabi’s locked up at the
DiMera mansion. Meanwhile, in the secret
room, Stefan admits to Gabi that his feelings
for her go beyond lust, and he opens his heart
to her. As much as Gabi wants to, she can’t
deny her love for him, either.
When Will and Sonny arrive at the DiMera
estate, “They find Gabi with Stefan,” recounts
Smith. “They walk in on them together mak-
ing out.” Needless to say, Will and Sonny
are surprised. “It’s obvious Gabi and Stefan
are into each other and want to be together,”
contends Smith, noting that their top concern
is how the new coupling will affect Ari. “They
want to keep her safe, and they don’t want
Gabi getting into trouble. There are so many
