ahead to 24-30 Aug 2019
ARIES (21 March-20 April)
It’s a week when you should enjoy a break
from your usual routine – and a chance to
relax. Expect a boost to your confidence.
GEMINI (22 May-21 June)
Home is where the heart is this week and
you can stop worrying about that family
issue. You may have a secret to share.
LEO (23 July-22 August)
Keep emotions out of financial decisions,
grab new opportunities and try a different
approach when tackling tricky problems.
LIBRA (23 September-22 October)
A twist of fate will put you in an excellent
position, while aspects to the Sun suggest
that an act of generosity will surprise you.
SAGITTARIUS (22 November-20 December)
A new career option is likely and you’ll
make a huge impression. In fact, almost
anything that you attempt will be just fine.
AQUARIUS (20 January-19 February)
Many aspects to your ruling planet bode
well for legal affairs, so be bold when
dealing with family or financial issues.
TAURUS (21 April-21 May)
Aspects to Venus put you in an especially
creative mood. A loved one will be able
to twist you round their little finger, too.
CANCER (22 June-22 July)
The New Moon means schemes of one
kind or another keep you busy, and you’ll
be successful. You’ll be having fun, too.
VIRGO (23 August-22 September)
This is a brilliant week to see what the
world has to offer, express your feelings
and to reflect on how well you are doing.
SCORPIO (23 October-21 November)
Living life to the full will leave you wiped
out, but all the signs are that an energetic
pal is set on showing you a great time.
CAPRICORN (21 December-19 January)
An unusual opening or situation is worth
trying, a short holiday would do you good
and there’ll be some magical moments.
PISCES (20 February-20 March)
You’ll be amazed by something a partner
tells you and pleased to do what they ask.
A plan or project will be very effective.

By George, he’s right!
Well done to George Clarke for
highlighting the lack of affordable
he lay in hospital. He must be the
luckiest man in Walford to survive
all these scrapes. Talk about
having more lives than a cat!
Maureen Moisey, Birmingham
What a muddle
I really enjoyed Channel 5’s The
Great Gardening Challenge, as it
was bursting with great tips and
ideas, but I found the semi-finals
extremely challenging! Trying
to make sense of what was
going on in four gardens and
knowing who was working
where was too confusing
for me. Rather than
cramming both into one
programme, maybe the
semi-finals could be
spread out over two
weeks next time?

C4 programme George Clarke’s
Council House Scandal. The
architect and TV presenter grew
up on a social-housing estate, so
the subject is obviously very close
to his heart. Let’s just hope the
authorities take action to sort it!

Had his Phil!
I’ve lost count of the number
of times Phil Mitchell has
almost snuffed it in BBC1’s
EastEnders. He was wired
up to a life-support
machine yet again
recently after being
smashed over the
head by Stacey
Fowler, and then
his son Ben tried
to finish him off as

No romance... Retired
couple Phil and Edith
Women on the edge
I thought C4’s recent I Am... series
was absolutely brilliant. Starring
Vicky McClure, Samantha Morton
and Gemma Chan, all three of the
stand-alone films were compelling
viewing. Each told the story of a
woman who finds herself trapped
in impossible circumstances, such
as cohabiting with an abusive
boyfriend or in terrible debt. The
acting was wonderful and made
the powerful dramas feel so real.
Well done to everyone involved.
Irene Emerson, Lincolnshire
It’s so good to see Who Do You Think You Are?
back on our screens for another series – it’s
one of my favourite shows. Daniel Radcliffe and
Naomie Harris were superb in the opening episodes,
but the one featuring
Jack Whitehall and his
father is my favourite
so far. They made me
laugh even though
their family had some
dark tales to tell. This
BBC1 show makes
history so personal,
and this series could
be the best one yet!

Jack’s dark past...
Hold the
series!
I was looking
forward to the
second series of
BBC1’s Hold The Sunset,
but the first episode was
disappointing. It
was full of really
unfunny situations
and there was no
romance between
Phil and Edith.
Maybe the stars
of the show, John
Cleese and Alison
Steadman, should
have quit while
they were ahead!
