Renault have added the
TechRoad to the Duster
range, replacing the
Dynamique 4×2 model.
The TechRoad features
a number of cosmetic
enhancements to differentiate
it from the rest of the line-up.
These include new 17-inch
Diamond Cut alloys, silver
roof rails and skid plates
front and rear.
To round off the exterior,
Renault includes bespoke
badging and red strips on
the doors.
The interior features new
high-quality upholstery with
red detailing. These go well
with the additional red inserts
on the climate control vents.
The usual standard features
found in a Duster (climate
control, touchscreen with
navigation and Apple CarPlay/
Android Auto) still apply.
The TechRoad specification
is only available on the
1.5 dCi 4×2 EDC and manual
models and is R327 900,
around R5 000 more than the
outgoing specification.
As is standard across
Renault’s product range, the
all-new Duster model range
comes standard with a five-
year/150 000km mechanical
warranty and a six-year anti-
corrosion warranty. Services
take place at 15 000km
intervals and a standard
three-year/45 000km service
plan applies.

LINE-UP

Nissan recently launched the
revised Navara in Britain,
giving us the first glimpse
of the upgrades to the
latest model.
The exterior isn’t all
that different, with most of
the important changes
happening underneath
the skin.
The 2.3-litre four-cylinder
diesel is available exclusively
with two turbochargers but
with two different power
outputs. The entry-level
engine offers 120kW and
425Nm of torque, while
the high-output model
offers 140kW and 450Nm
of torque. The engine can
be mated to an all-new

six-speed manual or
the well-known seven-
speed automatic.
Nissan was the first
manufacturer to offer a
five-link suspension at the
rear, which has also
undergone some
slight tweaks.
The rear has
been lifted by
25mm, while the
front suspension
now features
two-stage coil
springs for
better handling.
Nissan
increased the
size of the brakes
up front while the

drums at the rear have been
replaced with disc brakes.
Nissan’s Rosslyn factory
is currently prepping to
build this revamped Navara
but no local launch date has
been set.

NEWS DRIVING IMPRESSION

Mitsubishi’s Pajero Sport has
undergone surgery to make it
look a bit more like its
siblings.
In essence, the Pajero
Sport now has the same
front end as the recently
facelifted Triton while the
rear remains more or less
the same.
The 2.4-litre turbocharged
diesel (133kW/430Nm)
engine and drivetrain are
carried over. The brand’s
famous Super Select
part-time four-wheel-drive
system is part of the
package, too.
On the inside, it has a new
eight-inch colour display in
the instrument cluster, as
well as an equally large
colour touchscreen interface
in the centre console. As an
added convenience, the
Pajero Sport features an
electric tailgate. On the
safety front, Mitsubishi
added lane change assist
and rear cross traffic alert.
The Pajero Sport will be
made available in South
Africa but a confirmed
release date has not
been set.
