This GS750 is no restoration show pony,though;
it looks entirely unrestored andvery standard,so it
shouldn’t feel so good.But it does,proba bly
because it’s‘been through’with adecentmechanic.
The brakes are working so wellIcan only imagine
they’vebeenrecentlyoverhauled.
Okay,they’relackingalittle in feel, but when I
ask anything of themtheydeliver .Thereagain,this
beinga1978 model with thetwin discset up, it
should be at least okay.
Heck, eventhe suspensionfeels good. Not the
best, butplentygood enough to allow me to
investigatethe performance prettythoroughly.My
only real reservation on this occasion is the rubber.
That wouldn’tbe aproblem ifIcould content myself
with riding this bikesensibly at highway speeds. But
Ican’t help butwonder what this bikewould be like
on track (with appropriate tyres).Maybe it would
uncoverabunch ofissues,the brakeswould
probably struggleand the suspension might tieitself
up when really pushed. ButIthinknot, this frame
hasintegrity and thebikejustfeels sowell
balance d, fo rabikeofits erait’s really verygood
andmaybe the CRMCneeds to seeafew of theseon
their grids, straight bars andall, howling around the
race track withcrazy riders in colourfulsuits
