Sportscars has
just announced
it has purchased
the Chesil
Motor Company, bringing the
classic Porsche replica manufacturer
under the Westfield Technology
Group umbrella that houses both the
Midlands manufacturer’s sports car
and autonomous pod operations.
The acquisition has been the work
of many months of discussion between
the two companies, and the final
handover came just in time for the
Silverstone Classic show, where the
356 Speedster replica shared stand
space with its SE stablemate for the
first time. The new addition to the
portfolio is available to purchase now,
with prices starting from £32,995 in
fully built and £29,995 in kit form.
Beyond continuing to market the
Beetle engined model, Westfield
Sportscars MD Simon Westwood
has confirmed it will also launch an
electric version of the kit. The Chesil
E will be powered a 120bhp Hyper
9 motor that, when fitted with Tesla
batteries, will provide the model with
an approximate range of 180 to 200
miles. Its prospective on-the-road
price starts from £57,995 in fully built
and, £54,995 in kit form.

Julian Turner, CEO of the Westfield
Technology Group, had this to say on
the new addition to the stable: “We
are really excited to have the Speedster
under the Westfield brand... Westfield
can now offer you a pod for your
mobility needs in the week and a car
for fun for the weekend – all tailored
around your bespoke requirements.”
