t goes without saying that Cobra replicas make up a
large proportion of kit cars both old and new, with
owners often choosing them for their old school
charm, performance potential and historic good
looks. But the relative practicality afforded by the
wide and muscular shape is a virtue rarely celebrated by
Cobra fans.
This is not the case for Magnum owner Scott Edmonds,
however, who was mightily impressed recently at how easily
his replica coped with carrying his clubs, electric trolley and
battery on a recent trip to the golf course. There was even
space to spare!

WHERE DO YOU READ
YOURS? PART 17
Regular readers of Complete Kit Car
may already recognise the name
and face of Paul Curran, having
previously been a Running Reporter
for the magazine, prior to his
complete Vortex V2 being featured
last month. This time we see him
with a slightly water damaged June
issue tagging along on a recent
cruise around a surprisingly sunny
Arctic Circle. We love seeing the
magazine out and about in unusual
locations. Why not send us a pic of
yourself with a copy of the mag?

IN BRIEF

With noise limits at track day venues
becoming more and more stringent,
and tales of circuits risking closure
due to complaints from nearby new
builds more common, we could soon
be seeing more track day cars going
down the EV route.
Editor Adam definitely wasn’t at
any risk of being removed from the
MEV Owners’ Summer Fun Day grid
at Curborough while he was in Stuart
Mill’s whisper-quiet Electrocet – which
is featured on page 48. It certainly
beats having the drive of shame out
of the pits or, worse, the dreaded dB –
and performance – killer.

MONSTROUS LAMBO
Being the definitive manufacturer
of the sort of poster supercars that
graced countless generations of
teenage boys’ – as well as girls’ –
walls, Lamborghini has seen its
fair share of designs being used as
the basis for crazy custom builds.
But none, perhaps, are as mad as
Swede Patric Tenbrock’s Countach
aping 1500hp methanol powered,
5.5-ton, caravan crushing monster
supercar, that recently took part in
the UK Monster Truck nationals at
Santa Pod.
Could this be the start of an
exciting new Italian replica trend?
We hope so.
