The top floor of the lapa is under a roof
but open on all sides with tables and
chairs. From here you can see the whole
of Magoebaskloof and watch motorists
imagining themselves taking part in
the Monaco Grand Prix – don’t worry, it
quietens down at night.
FROM THE RESTAURANT you also have
an outstanding view of the surrounding
forests and plantations. On cold nights,
a fireplace crackles, and when the mercury
starts to rise, fans stir the humid air. Next
to the restaurant is a fully licensed bar
with a pool table and a large-screen TV
where you can watch sports all day long.
Below, at the foot of the restaurant, is
a giant chess set next to a conference hall.
There are also two Jacuzzis on a wooden
deck with forest views, a putt-putt course
and a trampoline. A little further along,
among a group of rondavels, you’ll find
a jungle gym and a seesaw.
If the Magoebaskloof Mountain Lodge
still offers too little to entertain you, visit
the nearby Debenge Waterfall, Agatha
Crocodile Farm and Modjadji Cycad Forest.
And the Kruger National Park, of course.
MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME You have a choice between a buffet dinner or à la carte. Next to the dining room is a bar
with a pool table and a big-screen TV. If you prefer to cook your own food there are plenty of braais dotted around
the resort.
