Know Your Hardware Store
When my late wife and I bought our house, we thought we were going to be here two years and gone. Thirty-
eight years later, I’m still in the same house. The best advice comes from an issue of Reader’s Digest published
more than 40 years ago: “When you buy a house, you think you have a place to live. You don’t; you only sleep
there. You actually live in the hardware store.”
Locate the Main Panel
Everyone in your home should know the location of
the main panel and how to reset a tripped breaker.

areas of your house, add them to a list and keep it
