producing superb
figures for a long
while now and are one of the top
brands in this area of the hobby.
They have some amazing in-
house sculptors, and their subjects
range from historical personalities
and soldiers all the way to pin-up
girls, fantasy, dragons, and movie
characters, plus their own range
of paint. But just recently
they entered the digital
world of 3D Sculpting with
a special new branch called
‘Ars Machina’, in which is a new
series of igures ‘EK - Eisernes
Kreuz’ for German subjects
which are 3D scanned
from photographs, or real
people using real Wartime
uniforms and any kind of media that they
can scan and render on a computer, This is
further tweaked by their software, split into
sections, and then 3D printed and cast for
sale. The depth here is just one step above,
especially when you know your igure is
based on a real image and soldier!
But all this depth comes at a price,
which is complexity. This is one of the most
complex igure builds I have ever worked
on. It’s just clever layers of parts on top of
the next to build up a complete igure. This
means arms must be glued after painted to
the torso, so I could reach all the parts before
for better painting. I like to paint my parts as3d printed
