I

am always looking to

create dioramas or

vignettes to add to a

model. Sometimes I try and

tell a story, but sometimes I just

like to put a model in an interesting

setting to bring it to life, which is what

happened during this build. Here I am

using the Dragon Sd.Kfz.250/1 Spw

Alte kit, as I had never built one of

the smaller reconnaissance halftracks

before, and although this is one their

older kits from about ifteen years ago

I thought I would try it out. The kit is

typical Dragon with excellent levels

of detail, a great it and as always,

some confusing instruction steps!

However, I took my usual procedure

of reading a few steps ahead to avoid

any disasters. The kit built up from

the instructions, but I left

the interior of so that I

could paint and weather

it irst. This was done

with various Vallejo

colours and then

chipped with more

acrylics to show plenty

of wear and tear. I also

added some enamel ilters

and washes.

Once complete I could

inish the rest of the

build and happily all the

unusually angled pieces

it together perfectly. After
