The App Limits Option
1
On the Screen Time front page, tap
App Limits and enter the Screen
Time passcode. Here you can limit the time
spent using set categories of apps to a set
time per day.
4
There’s a Block at End of Limit switch.
Turn it on to stop your child using the
apps for longer than you set. You can see the
categories that are covered at the bottom of
the screen.
2
Tap Add Limit. By default, All Apps &
Categories is ticked, but you can
choose specific categories such as social
media apps, gaming apps, and/or
entertainment apps instead.
4
When done, tap Add to set up the App
Limits. When your child has reached
the limit you set, they get a screen telling
them so. They can tap Ask for More Time to
request an extension.
3
Tap Next, and then set the time your
child can spend on the app categories
you’ve chosen to limit. As with Downtime,
you can set this time on a per-day basis
using Customise Days.
6
To agree to an extension, enter your
Screen Time passcode and approve it
for 15 minutes, an hour, or all day. If you use
Family Sharing, you can approve it from your
own phone.
