Hillbilly Homes LIFESTYLE

Pius, who has bought a wedding
facility that can cater for 200 or more
guests, has requested me to design
a chapel to seat about 120 guests.
In the sketch, the steeple is one of
light-weight construction, with
copper-plating roof cladding
that will weather the storms and
probably turn a greenish-brown
(the traditional colour) over time.
I’ve added a side veranda on the
north-east side, which can be a
further extension for larger
numbers attending a wedding.
The windows shown can be designe
to be fold-back, so that the veranda/dec
guests can be part of the celebration.
Benches and chairs placed in here
should be movable so these guests
can be part of the celebrations.
The veranda can also be covered
above and on the sides with a removab
canvas to suit prevailing weather. ▪FW
