Create a multiboot

USB memory stick

2

A command prompt opens^1 and the softwarestarts to
prepare the drive. Easy2Boot asksyou if you’re sureyou
want to eraseeverything from the drive,^2 so make sure
you’re happyto do that beforeyou start. When the process has
finished, the blue window turns green. Press anykey.

Download the self-extracting file frombit.ly/e2bdl482.
Double-click it, allow the softwareto make changesto
your system and install as usual. It runsstraight away.
Selectyour USBstick from the listat the top^1 and your
language from the side menu.^2 When you’re ready to prepare
the drive, click the bigred button.^3

3

Open the USB drive in File Explorer. The drive has lots of
files on it already but the most importantfolder is the
_ISOfolder.^1 This is whereyou put the ISO files of any
softwareyou want to run. Double-click the _ISOfolder to
access the next level.

4

Assumingyou’ve already downloaded the ISO files
you want to use, copy them into the most appropriate
folders on the USBstick. We downloaded Linux Mint
(linuxmint.com), for example, sowe’re copying itto the
LINUX subfolder.^1

ourPC isn’t limited to running Windows. If
you use a portable USB memory stick, you
canboot into all manner of operating
systems, fromLinux to specialised security tools
designedto fix problemsthat standard tools can’t
reach. With so many different options to try, you
could end up using a lot of memory sticks if you
want to keep a variety of options available.
Unless, of course, you use Easy2Boot.
This free software letsyou create a menu-driven
bootable USB memorystick containing as many
different operating systems asyou can squeeze on.
When you boot from the device, a handy menu lets
you choose which oneyou want to run.

Many ISO fileswork with thissystem,
and while not all of them have been
tested, a phenomenal number have.
Go tobit.ly/compat482to see the full
list of supported ISOs. Some needto be
altered or saved in specificways, so if
you ha ve a favourite, it’s worth checking
here first, particularly ifyou want to run a
Linux installation as a ‘persistent’ image

  • in otherwords, one that letsyou sa ve
    any changesyou make.
