SWIFT
Clearly 8ft-wide caravans are all the rage! Swift
extends its wider tourer offerings by introducing
Eccles X/Challenger X for 2020 (joining Sprite
Super and Elegance Grande as eight-footers in the
Hull company’s portfolio).
Comprising four models – two single- and two
twin-axles – all new Eccles X/Challenger X
tourers offer four-berth accommodation. Of note
is a new 850 layout with L-shaped front lounge,

rear island bed and transverse washroom. As you’d
expect, interiors feel exceedingly spacious, while
standard spec includes Alde central heating.
Moving onto motorhomes, the Bessacarr name
is dropped for 2020 – all models are now badged
Swift. New Edge and Kon-tiki Sport will no doubt
make the headlines, but additions to the Select
campervan (four-berth 174) and Escape coachbuilt
(four-berth 675) line-ups are also worthy of
mention. Described by Swift as “an ideal first
motorhome”, Edge numbers five models – a pair
of low-profiles and three overcab coachbuilts,
of fe r i n g a ny t h i n g f r o m t wo - to s i x- b e r t h
accommodation. Perhaps the stand-out model

a large garage storage area.

wrap-around seating to six-berth 696 featuring
a drop-down bed. Luxury spec extends to Thule
roll-out awning, air con and reversing camera.
