WHAT IS MASK?

TOGETHER WE CAN CONTINUE TO
engage, educate and empower.

MASK addresses important
topics and gives parents
the resources they need
to communicate with and
empower their children.

MASK (Mothers Awareness on School-age Kids)
is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization created in 2007 by
a group of dedicated mothers who recognized the need to
consistently educate families on rapidly changing issues.
The MASK mission is to engage and educate parents,
children and the community about
the issues facing youth and to
empower children to make safe,
healthy choices.
MASK fulfills its mission by
engaging, educating and empowering
families through the MASK E
Institute, MASK The Magazine and
our vastly informative website. The MASK E3 Institute is
a comprehensive year long multi-year approach to building
and strengthening life skills for children, including MASK
Storytime (Pre-K), MASK Academy (kindergarten to 6th
grade), MASK Prep (middle and high school), MASK
Leadership (college) and Parent University.
Through these platforms MASK aims to build healthy
children, strengthen parent-child bonds and improve school
climate. MASK tackles important topics—from drugs and

alcohol, to bullying, Internet safety and all of the modern-
day challenges families face—and gives students, parents
and the community knowledge and tools to manage them.
We live in a fast-paced, time deprived world and
it’s not easy to keep up with the latest information
and trends affecting children. We want
to help you and your family navigate
through the school-age years by providing
information and solutions about various
issues before they may even arise.

Why MASK The Magazine?
MASK The Magazine is the parenting
manual offering solutions to the modern-day challenges
families face. Each issue of the award-winning MASK The
Magazine tackles a specific topic in-depth and examines
how it can affect kids from pre-K to college. You’ll learn
age-appropriate conversation starters, which can help
open the lines of communication between you and your
child(ren). MASK The Magazine is packed with advice
and will prepare and equip you with the knowledge,
resources and skills to help strengthen parent-child bonds.
