DRUG
It’s important to talk to your child
about being peer pressured to drink.
To help them get out of a high-
pressure situation, teach them ways to
say no and work with them on
developing an exit strategy.
Don’t assume this won’t or
hasn’t happened to your
child. There will come a time
they’re faced with a drinking-
related scenario. It’s best to
make sure they’re prepared
for when the time comes.
MASK’S NEED-TO-KNOW TIPS
TECH
More than half of employers
view applicants’ social media
accounts. Teens should be
conscious of the photos they
post on their social media.
Videos of teens using profanity
or drinking online can tarnish
their future careers. Check your
child’s social media accounts
and inform them about the
negative consequences of
inappropriate posts.
BULLY
Excluding someone from a
group, ruining someone’s
relationships, or publicly
humiliating someone is
considered social, or covert,
bullying. Be cognizant of
your child’s attitudes and
behaviors, and talk with them
about the long-term effects of
bullying someone else. Their bullying
behavior could be a reflection of how
they feel internally.
SAFETY
If your child walks to and
from school, be sure they fully
understand the route. Discourage
them from taking shortcuts,
wearing headphones, and
looking down at their devices
while walking. Kids should stay
on the main roads and be aware
of their surroundings at all times,
keeping their eyes up, ears open, and
checking behind and in front of them
to see if they’re being followed.
