Military Illustrated Modeller - September 2019

1:24 SCALE HELLCAT

DECALS FROM FUNDEKALS

F

undekals has announced a new release, perfectly time for
the new Airfix kit:
“Fündekals is happy to announce our first foray into 1/
scale with this new project for the Airfix F6F-5. This sheet will
be another first for us - it will combine silkscreen printed decals
(printed by Cartograf) for the small markings, including a full ship
set of airframe safety/maintenance data in the unique Grumman
type style, with kabuki tape masks for the larger markings. We
have found a bevy of what we think are really interesting looking
Hellcats, including a couple with nose art, and one that we believe
has never been seen in the modeling community before (VMF-
aboard the USS Cape Gloucester).
As usual, the sheet will be
accompanied by a comprehensive
downloadable PDF instruction sheet,
with full details of each aircraft and
historical and technical background.
The decal is printing now, and we
anticipate having them in time for the
IPMS/US nationals in Chattanooga
in early August. Stay tuned to our
web site for more information as
soon as we know it!”
