The national insignia

received a similar, although

more subtle, treatment.

Now I had to finish

the painting process by

emphasizing the details. I first

applied Citadel’s ‘Drakenhof

Nightshade’ to the wheel

wells, which acted as both the

wash and filter.

The metallic surfaces were treated with Abteilung 502 ABT005 ‘Smoke’. I applied the oil paint (diluted with

white spirit, when necessary) over the chosen areas, using a brush...

... and quickly distributed or removed the excess, using a paper towel and cotton buds.
