W

hen someone calls your project truck

“The Junk” and asks that you not park

beside their fully built lowrider, well,

you man up and do what’s right. This

is the story of Danny Garcia. Not only did he remain

parked next to the guy who called his truck “The

Junk,” but he decided to use the guy’s harsh label for

his truck as its nickname. How’s that for payback?

But things weren’t always this cherry for Danny.

As it sits now, his 1953 Chevrolet 3100 features a

plethora of upgrades and among the highlights is

the custom paint, fresh 350 engine, and a laundry

list of modifications, including plenty of chrome and

engraving on the frame. In all, it’s been an 18-year

journey to get his truck where it is today, but the

struggle is one that paid off big and a story that all

began in the parking lot of his work.
