Ask yourself the
following five questions,
which should give you a good
sense of your outlook on life:
 Do you find it difficult to
see anything from a positive
perspective?
 Are you usually distrusting
of sincerity?
 Do you minimise selfless
acts of kindness?
 Do you often sneer or feel
bitter towards others?
 Are you quick to judge
and assume the worst of
someone or a situation rather

than giving the benefit of
the doubt?




CYNICISM AND YOU
‘Cynicism creates tension
within the body, and by
harbouring resentment and
distrust, the mind and body
struggle to relax,’ explains Lisa.
‘Anxiety, tension, unhappiness
and confusion all have a direct
impact on us physically. Yet,
if we focus on the positive,
and the calmer emotions of
the optimist, the mindset is
completely different as are the
feelings – which have a direct
impact on our body.’

If you have a cynical thought, pause before the
words slip out. Challenge it and compare it with
the reality, then let it go.


Choose to limit what you watch, read, and listen
to and focus on more uplifting information.


Limit your time in potentially negative situations
and take note of the positive instead – it is all
a choice but if this is important to you, you will begin
to find the old situations draining.


Begin to give compliments, a lift, or a cuppa.
Do rather than don’t do, and be open to the
possibilities of goodness rather than not and note
how you now feel.
