(Tina Sui) #1
■ Anxiety is running high
for Elizabeth — and for her
son Cameron — as Franco’s
loved ones wait to find out
whether Dr. Cabot’s memo-
ry-mapping experiment has
claimed another victim.
Cameron is reeling not
only from the ordeal of
being kidnapped by Shiloh
and nearly running the risk
of having his memories
wiped out, but from hav-
ing his stepfather, Franco,
volunteer to be the recipient
of the flash drive’s contents
instead, and being forced to
watch the procedure take
place. “I think what is going
through Cameron’s mind is
just immeasurable guilt,”
offers William Lipton
(Cameron). “As soon as he
starts accepting this father
figure, another one could
be gone, and he feels like a
lot of that is on him. He has
made all these clumsy mis-
takes and keeps on beating
himself up over them. No
matter what his friends and
family are saying, he still
feels like it’s on him, that
this is happening because he
messed up.”
As he waits to find out
whether Franco will wake
up, “Cam is definitely
unsure about what’s going

to happen,” Lipton says.
“He puts on a very brave
face in order to comfort
his mom, who is probably
grieving the most, because
there’s another man who
could be gone from her life.
They just got married! It’s
a very tough situation and
I think Cameron may not
have a lot of hope, but he
hangs on to the shred of it
to try to keep morale high.”
While Josslyn and Trina
do their best to comfort
Cameron and keep his spir-
its up, Elizabeth sits vigil
at her husband’s bedside.
“First and foremost, she
just wants him to wake up,”
says her portrayer, Rebecca
Herbst. “She wants this pro-
cedure not to have killed
him. She knows there is a

possibility that he could be
in a coma forever. There is
frustration and there is fear.
So when he does open his
eyes, she is overwhelmed
with relief that he is alive
and she has a smile on her
face; she knows that it’s
Franco and she wants to
know what she can do for
him. And then he opens
his mouth” — and based
on what he says and who
he speaks as, Herbst notes,
“The wind could be sucked
out of her.”
Even if the procedure
does accomplish what
Shiloh hoped it would,
replacing Franco’s memo-
ries with Drew Cain’s,
Herbst opines, “Elizabeth
will fight for the man she
loves.”
