(Tina Sui) #1
with many similarities. On
GH, Michael’s living son,
Jonah, was switched with
Willow’s dead son, with
the consent of Jonah’s
birth mother. On B&B,
Hope’s live daughter was
stolen and swapped out for
an anonymous woman’s
dead baby girl. Both
children are currently in
loving adoptive homes.
However, that is where the
similarities end. On GH,
Michael did the respon-
sible thing when he sought
counseling to help with his
grief over his “dead” son
and has moved on. B&B’s
Hope, however, is
in desperate need
of therapy, and not
one single charac-
ter has suggested
that she seek it.
Instead, they’ve
stood by while
she has made one
bad decision after
another. GH’s story
has been running
for a year now,
but the time has
passed quickly
because many
other storylines
are also ongoing,

A REAL FIND
In a split second, B&B
turned the tedious, nerve-
wracking story of baby
Beth into Emmy-winning
material. Henry Joseph
Samiri is incredible as
Douglas! From day one,
the audience has cared
about this sweet boy. To
watch him repeat “Beth
is Phoebe, Beth is alive”
in the mirror after being
threatened by Thomas?
What a tremendous payoff
for the fans. The reveal
happened in a totally dif-
ferent direction than we
saw coming. Thanks to

the writers and amazing
actors for keeping us in-
vested in these characters.
Hopefully, Douglas will
live with Beth, Liam and
Hope and remain a huge
part of the show. Thomas
can return after spending
time in the psych ward
after his “recovery” is a
success. Kudos to Henry
Joseph Samiri — he
deserves the Emmy this
year!
