4-element lens to a 5-element lens component.
All three iPhones are expected to be given a
front-facing camera bump; the XR will see a
new dual rear-camera set-up, mimicking
the iPhone XS and XS Max, albeit at a
cheaper price.
POWERFUL TWO-WAY CHARGING
Another marketable feature coming to the
2019 iPhone range is powerful two-way
charging, with Apple set to copy Samsung’s
Wireless PowerShare feature introduced
earlier in the year. Indeed, according to TF
International Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple
will introduce the bidirectional wireless
charging technology into the iPhone for
the first time, and it’s expected that the new
AirPods Wireless Charging Case may also be
compatible with the wireless charging feature
on the iPhone 11. The idea is to make the
iPhone the “hub” and allow devices such as
Apple Watches, AirPods, and other peripherals
to be charged from the device, reducing the
need for carrying around unnecessary cables or
power banks on the go.
Apple shocked fans when it pulled the plug
on its much-anticipated AirPower device, so
a new way to charge on the go will no doubt
appease both power users and everyday
consumers who may need an extra top-up
when they’re out and about. Of course, allowing
Apple Watches, AirPods, and even other iPhones
to piggyback off of your iPhone juice will run
down battery life, so it’s also expected the new
iPhone will introduce a larger battery to
accommodate this.
