a serious relationship too soon after the
break-up of the last one. As Caroline’s new
man is a number of years younger than her,
he might not be ready to settle down yet and
that is probably just what she needs right
now,” she said.
“Also, while men are notorious for propping
up their egos with a much younger
romantic companion, women are not
immune to the flattery of being
paired up with a good-looking
younger guy. Caroline is
attractive and at the top of
her game. There’s no reason
why she shouldn’t have some
fun without fretting about
wedding bells or mortgages.“
However, Dr Becky added that
there still needs to be a mutual
respect in any pairing.
“Not every relationship has to be a
serious one, but they should all come with
mutual attraction, affection and respect.
If Caroline has found all three qualities in
her beau, undoubtedly he is bringing some
happiness into her life. It may be less a
question of need than of wanting, but there’s
nothing wrong with that!”
