Recalling an earlier conversation with Malhotra, Mahtani
strongly feels a need for jewellery and fashion collaboration.
“Every bespoke piece of jewellery is tailor-made to suit
a bride’s personality. If you were to replicate the look on
another girl, the impact would not be the same. Hence,
there’s a need for people who can visualise, and ind the
correct lehenga and jewellery match with the bride’s sense
of self.” And experimenting with this thought process, the
two designers put together a spectacular show that saw an
unconventional pairing of sequin work, necklines, and lowing
silhouettes with opulent jadau jewellery. Understanding the
dilemmas of the modern bride, the two design stalwarts
