relationship...Linda, how do you feel
about your body at 60?
I think I look pretty good!
I can’t believe I’m wearing the
same sparkly bikini I wore
back in the day. I found it
in my attic the other weekend
while I was doing a big
clear-out, and it still fits!
As a woman, though, you’re
never really satisfied with
what you’ve got, are you?
We always seem to find fault
with ourselves. I know
I’m constantly comparing
myself with how I used to look,S
he became a
household name
in the 70s and
80s – and now, the
eternally glamorous
Linda Lusardi is
wearing the very same
bikini for best that she
posed in for Britain’s
biggest papers in
1988, to prove you can
still look, and feel,
incredible at 60 and
beyond. Linda, who is
married to talent agentand I’m far from perfect
- but I’m 61 in September,
so I definitely can’t complain.
I like myself!
And mentally, are you
in a happy place?
I used to look at people in
their sixties and think, ‘Oh,
they’re all old by then’, but
when you get there yourself,
you feel the same inside. You
don’t feel any older, it’s just the
shell that does! I’m in a good
place. I have a very happy life,
happy marriage, and two great
kids who are doing what they
want to do. That’s all I need.How do you feel about
the Love Island version
of modern beauty?
Well, at least they are all
shapes and sizes. I’m afraid
the world we live in revolves
around beauty, and [focuses
on] people in their twenties.
People aren’t really interested
in you as you get older! But
that’s the way of the world...
I think the Love Island girls
actually portray a healthy
body image – you shouldn’t
be carrying loads of weight
at that age! And they seemed
to be eating normally, not
surviving on lettuce leaves.Former glamour model
