It’s most people’s dream to match all six numbers
and never have to worry about money again. Yet,
Callie Rogers – who won £1.85m at just 16, making
her the youngest ever lottery winner – is calling
on MPs to raise the lottery gambling age to 18.
After claiming to be subject to verbal and
physical abuse and hounded by ‘fake friends’, she
has now lost all of her fortune and is working at
a £12,000 a year job as a carer. ‘You are only 16,
with all that responsibility,’ said Callie, now 32. ‘At
that age, you can get the best advice ever but you
are not in the position to listen. I was too young.
Overnight I went from carefree child to adult.’
What do you think? Do you think it’s too much
for a teenager to handle? Or do you think it could
be the best start to life, having enough money to
travel, go to university, buy a house...? Let us know!
We’ve had cake pops and even waffle
pops, but meringues are now getting
their turn with meringue pops a
popular theme on Pinterest. How
does one get this crispy, sticky sweet
treat to stay on a stick, you ask? The
secret lies in placing the stick in the
mixture before you put it in the oven,
so that while it bakes, it sets around
it. We find these ones from Sugar
Salt and Cookies mesmerising, but
can’t bear to think of the time and
effort it took to create these little
beauties in the first place. One to
buy, not make, we reckon.
