Rosemary’s infatuation withtheArabianhorsebeganafter
seeinga photooftheCrabbet
stallionNaseem,andin1960,
followingthedeathofLady
Wentworth,sheboughtthe
cricketgroundatCrabbetwithher
husbandRichard.
HeretheyfoundedtheWorth
StudandestablishedtheSilvern
familyline,using100%Crabbet
blood.Thestudwashighly
influential,exportinghorses
aroundtheworld,andtakingthe
riddenArabianoftheyeartitle
onthreeoccasionswithanimals
shownunderDarrenCrowe.
Rosemary’sknowledgeofthe
breed,andextensiveresearch
ontheCrabbetStud,ledherto
authorandco-authorfivebooks,
includingTheVersatileArabian,
whichquestionedthedirectionthe
breedwastaking.Shewasalsoan
outspokenopponentofabusein
theshowring.
