Two to Tango

A breath of fresh air that Jakarta’s mostly safe and monotonous
international dining scene needed, Sudestada (Jalan Biliton No.15,
Jakarta; +62 813 3126 5567; sudestadagrill.com) offers something
completely new with authentic Argentinian cuisine, especially from
its rich history of asado. Led by native Chef Victor Taborda, the
glass-cum-barn house designed restaurant is all about the intimate
relationship between diners and
the dishes. An array of premium
parilla dishes ranging from
octopus, ribeye, chorizo, striploin,
and short ribs–they even start
hard with the melty goodness
Matambre for the appetizer. The
influence follows to their desserts,
where both the flan and churros
are to die for.

The super draining urban everyday life of Jakarta demands us
to balance it out with a healthier lifestyle. That’s where we think
Supergrain (Grand Indonesia, East Mall Level 3A; +62 21 3866 380)
comes into the picture. The newly opened spot offers a service akin to
a salad bar, where you either pick an existing meal (curated bowl) or
you choose the contents yourself–from the grain, protein, sauce and a
whole lot of sides. The unique organic selections range from brown or
black rice, soba, chicken, salmon, pumpkin, beans to sous-vide egg for
the bowl and turmeric or black sesame latte for the drinks.

the latest addition to the bustling
area of Seminyak. The progressive
cocktail bar is helmed by award-
winning bartender Beckaly Franks,

Cocktail World Cup. The Pontiac
Stardust is originally from Hong
Kong and it is one of Hong Kong’s
most famed drinking dens. Guests
will be able to tuck into an ample
selection of drinks that strike
the balance between playful and
sophisticated such as the Last
Resort of Spa and The Hobnail #2.

favorite dishes that inspired by the
food truck fare of California, Miami,
Seattle and New York. The Pontiac
Stardust is open daily from 4:30pm
