I’m always the one who answers the door because I’m
expecting a big package of embroidery or fabric. People ask me
if I’m trying to be the doorman. Today I’m texting with my
model who will be coming in later, as well as answering phone calls,
working on the women’s collection, and checking in with our
president. 1:00 P.M. My girls and I eat together in the studio.
Sometimes I have a detox drink, but I can only do it for fi ve days because
by then I’m starving. Otherwise I love ham with melon, chicken with
salad, sushi or Vietnamese. If I’ve been to a party the night before,
it’s McDonald’s. I love the chicken nuggets with barbecue sauce.
The cheeseburger is so good, but I save that for mornings when I’m still
drunk. 2:00 P.M. When we’re preparing for a show, I have models come in
for castings and fi ttings. My publicist comes in and we talk about the collection.
On a usual day I have seven, sometimes 10 meetings. It’s crazy. Loud music keeps me going. I’m a Virgo. I love chaos, but even my
chaos is controlled. I think fashion is like sex. With a collection you sketch, sketch, sketch – that’s the sex. And when you do the show- that’s the orgasm. 9:00 P.M. I leave the offi ce at nine at the earliest, but I might stay until 1 a.m. We order a light dinner, but
sometimes I get depressed when I fi nish a collection, and I’m like, “Let’s order pizza.” When I leave on time, I go to the gym or home,
shower, change my clothes, and join my friends on a terrace close to the river to drink white wine and talk. Or we go to a restaurant
called Les Vitelloni, which has really good pasta. I love Italian. 11:00 P.M. I take a long, quiet bath and check my emails and text, but
I don’t take any selfi es. Recently my publicist sent me an article that said the people who take the most naked selfi es have the least
sex. Before bed I want TV. I love Revenge and Chelsea Lately – she’s so funny. I’ve already seen all of Miami Vice, so I don’t watch it
anymore, but I love 90210 reruns and seeing Dylan and Kelly again. I think Keeping Up With the Kardashians is funny. Sometimes
I text Kim and I’m like, “Oh, my God, did you really do that?” I had a fi ght with a guy last summer in Mykonos because he took
my table when I was dancing. Then I saw him on the show, and it turned out he was Kim’s friend. But I just saw him at her
wedding, and we had the best time ever. 12:30 A.M. If it’s Friday night, my girls and I just go crazy – we’re animals. When
we feel well dressed, we leave the offi ce and go straight to the club. My favourite dance track is Britney Spears’s Hit Me
Baby One More Time. After two gin and tonics I feel like I’m the new Britney. I can’t drink much because I get really
tipsy fast. I don’t feel guilty about anything, but I know I shouldn’t smoke. It depends on the season – sometimes
it’s only two cigarettes, sometimes 10. I like to dance to Rihanna. She’s also a friend and is so beautiful, I feel like
she could turn me. I love her body language, her music, her vision of the world. I love her as a person. I love
Kim too, because she’s the sweetest person and the one who takes care of me when I go to LA. I lost my
ID, and she helped me out. People think that when you do $25,000 dresses, you live a fancy life,
partying every day, and hanging out with famous people. But at the end of the day I’m
a young guy who likes to watch cartoons and eat Chicken McNuggets. I just want to
cuddle and be normal. 2:00 A.M. In my room I just have my big bed, no TV.
I can fall asleep super-fast. When I have someone close to me, I’m just
sleeping and they’re like, “Olivier, you slept so fast.” I’ve had
many complaints, but I won’t name names. ■
