totally obliterated. The base tone
was then lightened by adding
a hint of 61 Flesh and sprayed
into the panel centres, which
completed the ‘sculpting’ of the
otherwise plain single colour.
Paler patches, where the
load-bed machinery would be
positioned, were replicated by
downloading a plan of a suitable

machinery body vehicle, scaling
it to 1/35, and then cutting each
item from a printed copy. These

 The seats were painted in a canvas tone,
after which simulated wear was created by
airbrushing them with a mix of the original
colour lightened with a hint of 61 Flesh.

 The whole model then received an overall matt varnish to dull the decals and provide a
suitable base for weathering effects.

 A pin wash was applied to the entire model, followed by dry-brushing with various
Humbrol enamels to highlight detail and accentuate the moulded features.

 Once satisfied with the colouring on
the wheel hubs, they were masked and the
tyres sprayed with XF-85 Rubber Black.
