SIGNE LANGFORD, from Hudson, Quebec, is a
restaurant chef turned writer who tells award-winning
stories, creates delicious recipes, and published her award-
winning book, Happy Hens & Fresh Eggs: Keeping Chickens
in the Kitchen Garden, with 100 Recipes, in 2015. Her work as
a chef has garnered excellent reviews and four-star ratings.

BETH LISCHERON is the founder and alchemist
behind Dragonfly Dreaming Organics on Vancouver
Island. Leaning on the healing traditions of many eras
and cultures in her body-care line, her taproot runs
deep—to Japan. She was a rock ’n’ roll writer for Japan
Times, a translator for David Suzuki and an ambassador
for the Penan tribe of Borneo, establishing community,
deep ecology and creative expression.
STEVE MAXWELL and his wife, Mary, live on a
90-acre modern homestead on Manitoulin Island,
Ontario, in a stone house they built with local materials
beginning in 1985. Steve is Canada’s longest-running
home improvement and how-to columnist. He divides
his time working on the land, building things large
and small, and creating articles and how-to videos that
teach sustainable, self-reliant, hands-on living skills.

KEITH MILNE has been drawing since he can
remember. He studied art and cartooning at Sheridan
College, Algonquin College and Capilano College.
Keith’s work has been published in magazines since
the late 1970s, and he now mainly draws for outdoor
magazines and hockey and children’s publishers.
He is currently working on a cookbook for kids.
