Daylight time ends at 2 a.m. on
Sunday, November 1. The
near-full moon lights up the
eastern sky after twilight, and
Jupiter with Saturn dominate
the southwestern sky. Watch
Saturn and Jupiter as they
slowly drift closer together.
We tend to think that the
best time to look at celestial
objects is when they are high
in the sky. But this is not case
for less agile senior citizens.
Looking high overhead with or
without binoculars is quite a
strain on the back and neck.
So, this month we can look
at the summer sites at a more
comfortable height above the
western and southwestern
horizon. Similarly, on the
other side of the sky, the
winter constellations have
other targets of telescopes and
naked-eye observing. If it looks
fuzzy, then take a closer look.
