Beulah in an emailto

Please notethat
“Pony Tales” was
originally titled
“Things Children
Will Do.” Bessie

wrote about the beloved pony
that her uncle, Neil, bought her
for companionship. There was
quite an age gap between Bessie
and her younger sister, and Polly,
the pony, filled that spot nicely.
“I guess Mother was pretty
special in Uncle Neil’s heart.
Mother had an old black pig she
rode too,” Beulah explained.
Beulah asked that these
stories also be published in
memory of her only sibling,
George Wilson. George, who
suffered from Alzheimer’s
disease, died in Coldwater on
May 23, 2018, at age 70. Keeping
these precious family stories
alive has become paramount
to Beulah, and we’re beyond
happy to share them with our
Harrowsmith community.
